The term “pair” refers to connecting the keyboard or mouse by Bluetooth with the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet.
Keyboard
- If the keyboard does not turn on, check the batteries. If the batteries are dead, the keyboard light under the F7 button will not turn on. If the batteries are dead, please replace them with two AAA batteries. To change the batteries, open the compartment on the bottom of the keyboard with the battery symbol. Push in that button and it will open up to reveal the batteries.
- Turn on the Surface Pro tablet.
- Once you have logged in to Windows, you will see the desktop. With your finger, simply touch the white box in the lower left-hand side of the tablet screen that indicates “Type here to search.”
- Type “Bluetooth and other devices settings.” (You can use the on-screen keyboard by double clicking in the white box or you can also pull up the on-screen keyboard by touching and holding the icon in the lower right-hand side of the screen that looks like a keyboard.)
- There will be a new white screen that pops open that will indicate “Bluetooth & other devices” with a grey box that has a “+” symbol inside. Under that “+” symbol, check to see if the Bluetooth blue button is switch to “On.”
- Under that Bluetooth button, it will show “Now Discoverable as “CONVERUS.” Below that, it shows “Mouse, Keyboard, & pen.” The “Mouse, Keyboard, & pen” menu will show you different devices that are paired with the Surface Pro tablet. Click on the option “Keyboard” or “Wedge Mobile Keyboard” and select the grey box “Remove Device.” Another box will pop up asking “Are you sure you want to remove this device?” Click the YES in the blue box.
- Under the “Bluetooth & other devices” options, there will be a grey box with a “+” sign that indicates “Add Bluetooth or other device.” Click on this option and it will open up a black box titled “Add a Device.” Choose the Bluetooth option.
- On the bottom of the keyboard, there is a key with a Bluetooth logo. Hold that key until the red/green button under the F7 button starts flashing.
- The menu onscreen should then indicate “Keyboard” or “Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard.” Select this option and it will connect. A 6-digit PIN will appear on the Tablet screen. Enter this PIN keyboard and then click “enter” on the keyboard.
- The keyboard should now be connected and ready to use!
Mouse
- If the mouse is not turning on, check the batteries. They may be dead (if they are dead the green light on the top of the mouse will not flash. Will need to replace the 2 AA batteries (to replace, you must open the compartment on the bottom of the mouse and pop the old batteries out.)

- On underside of the mouse, there is a small circular button. Press and hold that small button until the light on the topside of the mouse starts to blink green.
